Yolanda helping guides editorial direction, story development and assignment, newsroom standards, citizen journalist development through our internship and apprenticeship programs) and management, and the publication, distribution, and marketing process for The Peak News.

Born and raised in the Texas Hill Country, Yolanda developed an early love for storytelling through the influence of her mother who worked as a photographer and videographer at Lackland Air Force Base, where Yolanda also worked as a teenager.

Yolanda went on to study Biblical Theology and Worship Arts at Dallas Christian College and Baptist University of the Americas.  She later dedicated her work to civil rights reporting, with a particular focus on women’s sex-based rights, public policy, and issues affecting families and communities.  Her footage has aired on Fox News and Newsmax.   In 2023, Yolanda joined The Peak News as a cohost.   Her first major report covered the Raven v. Polis case, specifically addressing the placement of men in women’s prisons within the Colorado corrections system.  She later expanded her reporting to include coverage of legislative sessions and other important civic issues.

Yolanda brings a strong commitment to truth, clarity, accountability, and courageous journalism — helping The Peak News "say the quiet stuff out loud" while restoring trust in local media through ethical, hyper-local reporting.
